LabGenius’ highly multidisciplinary team brings together the very best minds from the fields of data science, robotic automation, protein engineering, synthetic biology. 

As a Senior Software Engineer at LabGenius, you will collaborate with our talented team of scientists, data scientists and software engineers to deliver our ambitious internal and partnered drug discovery programmes, helping us build a future where AI rapidly engineers novel, life-enhancing biotherapeutics. You will do this by building tools and services which automate experiments and process scientific data at scale.

What you’ll do in this role

• Work with our Data Scientists to productionise our machine learning drug discovery platform

• Lead the design and build of software solutions to help our wet lab scientists generate high quality results

• Configure, maintain and build integrations for our lab information management systems (Benchling)

• Work closely with lab and data scientists to understand their problems and offer solutions 

• Use Google Cloud Platform to deploy, manage and secure applications and data.

• Work to maintain and improve the quality of our software, exemplifying best practices for testing, code review, security, documentation, and architecture.

What we’re looking for

• You have a background or experience in a scientific subject, such as a degree or equivalent working in a related field.

• You'll have experience developing Python applications in a production environment.

• You’ll have experience building and maintaining continuous integration/deployment pipelines (CI/CD).

• You’ll have some experience building UIs using React, TypeScript/JavaScript.

• You are confident with handling and analysing data

• You are comfortable working autonomously and managing your own workload but also able to work collaboratively as part of a team

• You’ll strong mentorship skills and experience mentoring other engineers

• You'll be excited to learn about molecular biology, protein engineering and automation in order to be more effective in your job.

Remote expectations: It's a hybrid role and we would need 2 days onsite each week at least.
